The following information came to me through my email from the” Friends of Mill Creek” and I thought
about Harbor Point residents interest in the water quality of the local creeks.

*The Water Quality Blitz is quickly approaching, and we need volunteers to sample Mill Creek!
The 2026 Blitz has been scheduled for Saturday, April 11th with a backup rain date on
Saturday, April 18th. We plan to sample the same 7 sites sampled in 2025. Please let me know
if you would like to help out.

Your role: Your role as a volunteer in the water quality blitz is to retrieve labeled sample bottles
from ACLT either at 9 am on the morning of the Blitz or anytime during regular office hours
during the week before April 11th. On the day of the Blitz, you will hike or drive to your site using
the provided coordinates, fill a sample bottle with water from the stream (making sure your
bottle label matches the site label), and transport the sample on ice back to ACLT to be filtered
and delivered to the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory for analysis. Depending on your
preferences and number of volunteers, you may be asked to retrieve samples from more than
one site.
